Producer
The Ichuga station is part of the Kiama Farmer Cooperative Society, supporting 726 smallholder farmers. These dedicated producers manage coffee gardens averaging less than one hectare, focusing on traditional SL28 and SL34 varietals. The cooperative provides crucial support through pre-harvest financing and agricultural training, ensuring sustainable farming practices and high-quality coffee production.

Process
Kenyan coffee processing is an art form of precision and care. At Ichuga station, farmers selectively hand-pick only the ripest cherries. The unique double fermentation process involves two 24-hour fermentation cycles, with careful agitation between stages. After fermentation, the beans are thoroughly washed and soaked overnight, then meticulously dried on raised beds, ensuring optimal flavor development and consistency.
